Objectives

The school operates in harmony with the surrounding environment, and is a part of it. When planning its activities, EMTS is based on the needs of society. As Europe shows signs of population ageing, rehabilitation and sports centers play a very important role in healthcare. To date, EMTS has developed effective partnerships with centers in Portugal and Spain. Maintaining good relations so that learning is interactive and flexible, is also one of our goals in international activities. There are many interesting and different methods that are not yet implemented in Estonia. An excellent practice bases for our students, who can use the acquired skills here. EMTS wants to be an open-minded, adaptable educational institution in order to further develop classical and traditional techniques. The goals of the "EMTK Erasmus+ Mobilites 2020-2022" project were: 1. To provide an excellent education 2. Enabling diverse practice in an international cooperation network 3. Expand the international cooperation network in order to diversify mobilities 4. Increase the quality of the school's curriculum by using the additional knowledge acquired through mobilities 5. To support the participation of students with fewer opportunities

Background

Estonian Massage and Therapy School (EMTS) operates in the health and rehabilitation services curriculum group; training masseurs, massage therapists and animal masseurs. Our mission is to improve people's life quality by training and inspiring masterful, compassionate and client-focused massage therapist. With 23 years of experience, EMTS is a valued leader in Estonia and neighboring countries, offering comprehensive and learner-centered education. We stand for the best massage service; encouraging people to practice healthy lifestyles. EMTS is private vocational school with the largest number of students (405) in Estonia. Since private vocational education institutions operate under conditions of strong competition and without state subsidies, the financing of the Erasmus+ program plays an important part in fulfilling the sustainability of EMTS's foreign internships. Active participation in various international mobilties has enabled the school to find cooperation partners in different countries; and has increased the school's international reach, allowing students to gain experience of practicing and working in foreign countries. The profession of masseur is a brand in itself on the Estonian labor market.
