Objectives

Three directions are planned in the project activities, which support the goals of the development plan: 1. Quality development - by implementing quality assessment in training centres of different sizes. Development and modernization of the existing quality assessment system based on the knowledge gained from the project. 2. Involvement of target groups with lower competitiveness in education, provision of training that meet their needs and study counselling. 3. Language teaching methodology for refugees and new immigrants, new methods and teaching materials.

Background

The content and topics of the project are based on the development plan of the Association of Folk High Schools in Estonia and support the set development goals. The development plan sets the following goals: folk high schools offer diverse and high-quality training that supports self-development for adults, regardless of their age and educational level. With this, we help people to be more successful in their work and everyday life. For this goal have set 3 strategic goals: a) high quality of teaching, b) popularization of the folk high schools, and c) network cooperation. The development plan emphasizes the need to contribute to new areas and target groups (working women, parents of young children, and active elderly). Different risk groups (refugees and adults with fewer opportunities) have been added to these target groups because learning plays a key role in alleviating poverty, inequality and social stratification.
