Objectives

One of the most daunting issues our society is facing in the world is the mounting waste problem, which impairs public health, pollutes the environment , seriously effects on economy and threatens to drown some poor countries in toxicity. Turning waste into a resource is one key to a circular economy. We need to carry on betting on the future for minimizing the effects in the environment and focus on areas and communities that have not raised awareness about this transversal topic yet. Here, the education and training play a fundamental role. Modern educational system lacks of providing young people with the relevant information about the problematic issues such as waste as environmental hazard. On the other hand, in many Europeans countries (some of them will be included in the project) have serious problems in regards with the unemployment. We do believe, that the empowerment of young people by raising awareness of the current topic that enable them to start own business with environmental and social benefits can help them and level up the job market in these countries. For these reasons we aim to use the civic movement DIY (Do It Yourself) for decreasing waste and creating new useful products. This is main strategy that makes us implement the youth exchange. We need to develop a project where we provide our participants to raise awareness about environmental issues that enable them to develop their skills in order to increase their employability. Digital and literacy competences are considered to be important skills for levelling up a CV or passing a job interview successfully. Working in groups with backgrounds of cultural diversity or improving communicative English skills can also be considered like a big challenge but the challenge rate increasing when the youth will be able to place themselves as competitive workforce in current labour market . In the same way they should develop creativity skills. Our aim is to prepare young people in order to find new waves of solutions for their actual current needs by accessing new information about the waste topic that will provide them to take up totally new activity. The main objectives of the project are: 1. To see the difference between sustainable and consumable lifestyle. To empower youth to act in sustainable way. 2. To learn how to use waste and secondhand materials in order to create new products those are useful and to gain skills in upcycling. 3. To understand social entrepreneurship and promote creativity. 4. To gain skills in digital tools for increasing employability in young people. 5. To promote Erasmus+ Programme and non-formal education.
