Objectives

We wanted with the implementation of the Plan, the three teachers of the school to attend training seminars in specialized teaching subjects in Finland and Estonia, which corresponded to their interests and the needs of the School. The knowledge and skills of the participating teachers to be enriched, so that they to become more efficient in their teaching duties. After completing the training, the teachers to share their knowledge and experience with the rest of the school's teaching staff and contribute to improving the quality of the education provided. By applying in their teaching work new pedagogical methods, teaching methodologies and tools, to improve the quality of the education provided to the students of the school. With the completion of the Project, the students of the classes taught by the teachers participating in the project to enjoy their qualitatively upgraded educational work with the application of new pedagogical methods, teaching methodologies and the use of ICT in education.

Background

The teachers of the school recognized after research that there was a lack of knowledge and skills in methods, didactics and tools and that they needed to be trained in them. The vast majority of teachers felt that they needed to be trained in modern, new for the Greek reality pedagogical methods and teaching methodologies (student-centered learning model, team-collaborative, exploratory teaching method and interdisciplinary knowledge). A large part of the teachers wanted to improve their digital skills, to be able to respectively strengthen the skills of their students who have to live in the Information Age. They therefore needed to be trained in educational tools, in the use of ICT as a means of communication and distance education. All of the teachers highlighted issues related to the need of strengthening students' positive attitude and behavior at school, taking responsibility for learning and improving problem-solving skills, strengthening critical and creative thinking, digital and social skills, and overall performance and multifaceted development of their students.
