The objective of participating in the program was to address the needs of our school, focusing on providing equal learning opportunities for all students, particularly those with fewer advantages, and adapting our teaching methods. Additionally, our aim was to encourage active student participation and motivate them to make progress in their academic performance. The specific goals of our project were as follows: Enhance teaching and learning by renewing our educational approaches. Improve student performance and promote active participation through the flipped classroom model. Foster friendly relationships among students by implementing teaching practices that offer equal opportunities and facilitate the inclusion of all students. Provide teachers with the appropriate knowledge and skills to ensure that students who have fewer opportunities can have equal access to formal and non-formal education. Professional development of staff, exposure to educational systems of other countries, and enhancement of linguistic and interpersonal skills in a cross-cultural environment. Develop a profile for European collaborations, networking, and establishing new European partnerships. Elevate the school's presence within the local community.
The 4th Gymnasium of Kavala is a technologically advanced institution, open to the local community and the world. The school's educators felt the need to upgrade their knowledge and skills, as they had observed relatively low student performance and instances of student dropout in recent years. Given that the school is located in an area with low socioeconomic status and the students come from diverse social and ethnic backgrounds, managing classroom diversity posed a challenge. Our goal was to promote equal learning opportunities, mitigate socioeconomic and cultural disparities among students, and rejuvenate teaching methods to be more engaging and effective. We decided to participate in this mobility for the following reasons: To introduce innovative educational practices for the inclusion and smooth integration of vulnerable social groups, such as students with learning difficulties, refugees, and those with weaker economic backgrounds. To enrich our teaching methods, aiming to stimulate our students' interest, foster the development of their individual skills, and enhance their academic performance.
