Objectives

Four different structured teacher seminars had been chosen with the view of achieving the following objectives, all related to our school's needs: how to teach to migrants using digital means (our school has a number of migrants), how to foster a culture of change through collaboration at school, how to boost adult education in our school and how to employ more playful and non-formal activities while learning. At the same time, we would visit schools in all four countries involved,in order to attempt a comparative and contrastive analysis between the educational systems and to see what good practices could be transferred to the Greek system.

Background

The project envisioned teachers and pupils of Evening schools as equally newcomers to the space of learning, in the sense that pupils of an evening school are usually of an older age and need thus to relearn how to learn, while teachers are learning how to teach in a diverse classroom, learning from their pupils' needs and experiences. The name of the project was therefore RESTART: Pupils and Teachers As Newcomers to the Space of Learning. We decided to visit Scandinavian/Nordic countries so as to get the best of their expertise and see what we could implement in our school, so as to restart the learning/teaching process for all.
