We wanted to actively engage all students, to achieve the transition to a modern educational environment suitable to the needs of the modern society and respond to the needs of all students. Students in order to be successful in their life need to have life skills and our job as teachers is to help them acquire them. Teaching is an ongoing process, that means that a teacher should never stop learning. The lifelong education of the school staff is another objective,as this seems to be the only way to offer the most to students and to progress as individuals. Also we wanted our teachers and students to have the valuable experience of an Erasmus+ project, to acquire new knowledge and to create a european network that will improve the way of teaching and the european identity of our school.Exchanging ideas with colleagues from other countries can bring significant change to the way we teach our students.
We applied for this project because of the need to change the way of teaching and learning in order to face the needs of avery individual learner especially the ones with difficulties. Also the need to create a friendly learning environment that will follow the latest teaching methods and learn how to make the most of all the computers and projectors that recently were acquired by the school. Students learn better when they are taught in a friendly environment, when they play, with a variety of teaching methods and when they have the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge. The rapidly changing world demands teachers that will know how to use digital tools in their teaching, students that will learn through them and learn how to use them so as to improve life skills necessary for their future. The different needs that each student has will be met better thorugh the use of games, digital tools and makerspaces. Another main reason for applying was because the school had no previous experience of Erasmus+ projects ,something we consider valuable and important for any modern school.Being part of the european world, having a european identity is a part that our school lacked and aimed to acquire.
