The improvement of our teachers skills in matters of communication, pedagogical adequacy, update in matters of civilization and culture, acquisition of theoretical adequacy in fields related to the management of the teaching content, as well as gaining basic skills and competences in matters of psychology, led us to this specific educational training, which provides a multidimensional approach of the Art and the art psychology. Through this education we estimated that Art and teaching with Art, could give us better understanding of multicultural and multilingual problems, and could also help us improve our communicative approach to students of so many and so different backgrounds. For that reason we chose a European program which gave us knowledge and guidance on how to combine Art theory along with Art practice and has helped us to use it as a tool to maintain students interest and attention in to the learning process as well as to transform it in to a strong motivation for action and creativity.
Our school is consisted of students from various nationalities and different cultural, social, financial (etc) levels. We, as teachers, taking as a major factor that diversity, in all its aspects, is our schools profile, are fully convinced that Art and Culture is the ideal and most potent way to approach students of such backgrounds. Our organization’s orientation in to constant feedback, renewal, improvement and educational effectiveness, inevitably drove us to Art, due to its top role in to the configuration of ones personality, mental and intellectual cultivation. Therefore, through the choice of this specific, educational seminar, within Erasmus programs, we are exploring new ways of re-bonding and reconnecting with Art . The educational seminar, “Utilization of the Art in to the teaching process”, from the course organisation TEACHERS ACADEMY in Florence was in full accordance to the initially set goals, in order to use the Art as a content and teaching tool, as well as gaining teacher’s familiarity with it and acquisition of the basic skills regarding Art teaching.
