The development plan of our school moves towards the principles of understanding our position in an international environment, cultural and cross-cultural awareness, cooperation at the European level to improve the way of teaching and learning. Our intentions are to immediately implement all the good practices applied in other European countries and adapt them to our own educational system. We wish to achieve an improvement in our learning environment by making it more enjoyable and attractive for both students and teachers by approaching the curricula with a student-centered orientation. With new techniques such as gamification and methodologies such as project-based learning, collaborative and pedagogical use of ICT and innovative practices such as the inclusion of chess, we expect to achieve greater interest, joy, student involvement and creativity. We also seek to encourage increased perception and understanding of subject matter, increasing motivation and alleviating the problems of boredom and dropout.
The basic needs of our school in the field of European mobility and cooperation were the following: - The continuation of the culture of extroversion and the adoption of a European culture in various areas such as multiculturalism, learning environments and lifelong training of our teachers -The need for a more attractive school that offers challenges to students and changes the learning environment, motivates students to take initiatives in areas of their everyday life and school life. - The need to get to know the educational administration of other European countries as well as school management practices and administrative issues. -The need to improve knowledge of the English language but also so that there is better quality participation in European mobility programs . -The cultivation of the new literacy, as a result of socially and politically embedded practices and includes concepts such as the digital, the visual, the informational and the critical literacy , and makes students able to cope with the pluralism and the bulk of information brought about by technology. Greek students show an overly negative attitude towards studying and there is a lack of internal motivation, which affects their performance.
