Objectives

The purpose of the program was to modernize the educational process so that participants can: 1) improve communication and collaboration skills with the students, their' families, fellow teachers and the wider community. 2) upgrade their teaching methodology through innovative approaches. 3) harmonize their teaching with the new social facts (e.g. refugees, immigrants, ROMA, vulnerable social groups, etc.) acquiring a prism adapted to the rapidly evolving reality. 4) exchange good practices, ideas and perceptions through direct contact with colleagues from other European countries. 5) plan future collaborations through the program.

Background

The program was based and designed on the needs expressed by the teachers themselves after completing a questionnaire and related to innovative teaching approaches, classroom management and personal development mainly. The exchange of good practices and methodology through the connection with European bodies brings about not only the development of teachers' skills but also promotes European consciousness and culture in schools and in general in the social fabric of Ilia. As coordinators of the project, we support social inclusion and promote the concept of European citizenship in all schools of our responsibility. By involving schools of all types across our region, we aim to train a representative number of teachers and spread the program wider.
