We wanted to enable participants to: 1. learn the way advanced educational systems are organised and operate, esp. systems known to be effective in impoving students' performance in basic subjects (Finland, Sweden, Iceland). 2. To explore special aspects of the educational systems of these countries. 3. To study innovative methods and discover how they are implemented in schools in the three European countries. To see how these schools ensure a pleasant and at the same time effective learning environment for students: group work, project method, student participation, learning by experience, managing students' behavior, sources of educational material outside the classroom. 4. To apply these teaching methods in order to improve the quality of the learning process in class. 5. To develop their language skills. 6. To network our school with selected schools in Europe, to collaborate with them.
The Erasmus+/KA2 projects that our school had carried out in previous years paved the way for the internationalization of our school and the introduction of innovation in our teaching. So we wanted to continue and deepen the path of innovation: we aimed at training our staff, through specialised seminars, in innovative teaching methods. We started this effort by getting to know three advanced educational systems of Northern Europe.
