The proposed project was: Α. • to broaden students' professional and social horizons • to be trained in truly professional environments, • come into contact with state-of-the-art equipment, • improve and enrich their knowledge and skills that they acquire while attending school, • understand the context of their work and • be able to seize opportunities when they arise, in terms of both entrepreneurship and employment. All of them result in their personal and professional maturity. Β. Teachers: • to get to know the method of gamification, • to get acquainted with innovative pedagogical tools of non-formal education, • to combine new methods and tools in order to make their teaching objects more attractive to their adult students. • to develop the spirit of cooperation and communication in the school, since the management and especially the dissemination of European programs is done by a team and the whole school is involved. Students and teachers are expected to develop foreign language skills and enhance the sense of European citizenship, improving tolerance for diversity and boosting their self-esteem.
The students of Esperinο EPAL Giannitson live in a relatively isolated geographic and rural area, with a high unemployment rate. They come from disadvantaged population groups, are mostly unemployed or have a low level of specialization and are employed in positions that are not related to their subjects of studies or as auxiliary staff in positions, which, due to their low level of specialization, are usually poorly. They have reduced formal qualifications, reduced learning opportunities and development of social skills, increased student dropout. All this was the cause of their active or latent marginalization. Also, a large number of foreign students have inadequate language skills and low school performance, which significantly impedes their active adaptation. Thus, the school is called upon to develop actions aimed at addressing problems such as the lack of opportunities in the province, the absence of extensive training programs, etc.
