Objectives

In implementing this plan, we initially aimed to raise the awareness of the general public on the current issue of "driving-alcohol" and the understanding that alcohol affects the brain as an anesthetic, sedative or stimulant, depending on the amount consumed. The higher its content in the blood, the stronger its effects. On the other hand, non-alcoholic wine retains all its beneficial properties for the health of the individual when consumed within the permitted limits. Therefore, the consumption of beverages with very low or negligible alcohol content and innovative methods of detection and digital detection of alcohol in the blood could solve the above very serious social issue, while creating new conditions in the labor market in Greece with multiple economic and social benefits. At the same time, an equally important goal was to provide specialized knowledge to the participants who will be the modern professionals (Agronomists, Beverage Technologists, Health Professionals) and will strengthen their formal and substantive qualifications. Finally, through the project, we significantly aimed at the European orientation of the school, a fact that was significantly strengthened by the award of Accreditation.

Background

This mobility project is entitled ¨Development of skills in innovative technologies of new products and services 1st Flow: Wine with low or zero alcohol content 2nd Flow: Innovative technologies in methods of detection of ethanol in the biological fluids of the body ¨ and concerns the education and training of students in the fields of Agriculture and Health, of the 2nd EPAL Katerini, which took place in Catalonia (26/4 / 2022-11 / 5 / 2022). Road accidents are one of the most important problems in Greece, as they are one of the leading causes of death for young people. Our school is very sensitive about this issue because many of our students are residents of rural villages and due to agricultural work they start driving at a very young age. At the same time, because these villages have a tradition in the production of wine and tsipouro, they start consuming alcohol very early with disastrous results. We are all called to help in the effort to manage and solve the problem, which has now become a scourge and has significant social and economic consequences, let alone the school. That was the reason why we wanted to deal with this subject of study.
