Objectives

By implementing the Erasmus+ project "ACCEUEDU" we aimed to: 1) Collaborate with NGOs working in the mental health sector and operating throughout Greece (Athens, Fokida, Thessaloniki, and Ioannina). 2) Upgrade the skills in securing and managing EU projects of the staff and board members of Greek non-governmental organizations active in the mental health sector that participated in the training 3) Exchange good practices in the field of mental health and to present the perspective of caregivers. 4) Conduct study visits to the European University of Cyprus and the University of Cyprus in Nicosia, and the Cyprus University of Technology in Limassol, to talk to individuals responsible for EU Projects. 5) Use the e-learning platform of the course "Management for EU-funded Projects" of the training provider.

Background

Several adult education providers in the Mental Health sector in Greece rely on access to EU funding to support their operations and activities. Project management obligations related to reporting and visibility of EU-funded projects are complicated tasks that require several appropriate skills. Various forms of audits, as well as tools for efficient & effective monitoring & evaluation, require familiarization with relevant procedures and formalities. The majority of submitted projects do not usually manage to get funding. There are so many important details to be taken into account that even if the proposal is of relatively high quality there is still the possibility of rejection. All the above are the reasons why we applied for this project - to obtain the opportunity for an interactive workshop for adult education providers in the mental health sector, and to identify the best suitable funding schemes for their project ideas and plans. To enable two (2) participants from six (6) Greek NGOs, operating throughout Greece, to learn the success factors and different aspects of EU-funded proposals (e.g. Excellence, Impact, Implementation), and how to incorporate them into a coherent respective formulation.
