Our school's educators mainly wanted to learn new teaching methods and techniques to support the school's development and integrate these techniques into their lesson plans and the school's curriculum. Moreover, the basic goal of the program was to improve the staff's and management's competencies for their personal and professional development. In this way, the improvement of coaching and other communication skills would be achieved and new social and interpersonal abilities will be incorporated. All the above-mentioned goals lead to smoother cooperation between the institution and the employer-educator, integration of all the techniques learned into daily school life, and effective problem-solving. Finally, two more goals specified by our school for this project were the European dimension (opportunity for meeting colleagues of different nationalities within the EU; engagement in cross-cultural learning) and improvement of our language skills (broadening of professional vocabulary and promotion of EU’s broad linguistic diversity).
An Erasmus+ project provides to any participating school the opportunity to be a part of a program with a broader and very important scope. Our school has never before participated in such a project and our educators wanted to interact with other European adult educators, share experiences and be part of the new European learning experience. This will, in effect, lead each one of us (as educators) to professional and personal improvement, develop our skills and experiences and broaden our point of view, both as educators and as European citizens.
