Objectives

In order to achieve the vision and the priorities we have established, we set goals to develop new museum and educational programmes that will make use of the performing arts and the new possibilities offered by new technologies. We already use art as a tool to approach learning objectives but we want to do it in a more organized way and from this year onwards, using the knowledge we have gained, we will integrate new educational programmes that will use art, theatre and storytelling in an attempt to reach socially vulnerable groups (refugees, Roma, women victims of gender violence, disabled people, patients with neurodegenerative diseases). Background

The School Life and Education Museum of the National Research and Rescue of School Material Centre (EKEDISY) has included in its strategic plan the further development of its European orientation, the networking with partners from abroad and the reinforcement of its European profile. Among our core principles is the continuous improvement of the services they offer. A precondition for this is the professional development of its human resources, and ongoing training by applying the principles of lifelong learning. According to the declared objectives which are in line with the definition of a museum according to ICOM, museums are institutions that perform beyond the educational and social role and should be at the service of the society in which they operate. With this project, we wanted to gain knowledge and skills that will enable us to develop a new plan of activities and programmes aimed at these groups and to acquire new target audiences belonging to “invisible” social or minority groups, as well as self-sufficient or partially self-sufficient people with neurodegenerative diseases.
