SciCo intended to offer its staff important professional development in order for them to exchange best practices, learn about latest developments in the field, harvest contacts and tools and eventually drive the organisation’s potential and impact. Specifically through the visit to Ars Electronica, participants discovered front-end technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence and Deep Space, and how these are couple with education and bridged to the broad public Additionally, goals that the organisation would like to achieve by the mobility program, are the personal development of each and every participant and the broadening of the horizons in modern techniques of interactive educational practices, science communication and science engagement. By these means, the participants should have been inspired by the different techniques and stimuli in order to be able to reapply using the organisation's existing resources and building further.
The beneficiary Epistimi Epikoinonia, is an educational non-governmental organisation, that focuses in science communication and science engagement. The organisation identified the need for further training its personnel in the use of new technologies and practices in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education using an interactive pedagogical approach. Also, the was a need of production of digital educational content and connection with research institutions in Greece and abroad, for the exchange and dissemination of good practices. The main goals identified by the organisation in 2020 were the following a) Broaden target audience to include more non-privileged groups and underserved areas. b) Broaden the age group to educate, engage and empower teachers and younger students, beginning at pre-school age. c) Broaden the geographical impac outside Greece All of the above needed to be managed through new ideas, networks, cooperation strategies, knowledge, skills and tool acquiring, all of which can be facilitated by European mobility to enhance new partnerships and build on best practices,as showcased by the experts.
