Objectives

The Association of Technology Teachers (ΤΤΑ), as a scientific Association, monitoring the educational events and responding to the request of its members for training, planned training with the belief that the expected results will fully meet the needs of the participants The main purpose of this mobility was the training of teachers and the improvement of their qualifications for harmonization with modern teaching methodologies as well as the use of standards and technologies that promote the learning project, such as the use of educational interactive games (Serious games) The integration of Serious games into teaching is an exciting development for the role of technology in learning. Learning strategies are strengthened, they improve the quality of interaction and assessment, they increase the pace and depth of learning. The learning outcome with Serious Games depends on the appropriate pedagogy and the basic mechanisms of the game and on the way the content is integrated into the play, so that learning happens through play. They allow for more interactive, immediate, emotional feedback and the delivery of knowledge to individual needs and tasks.

Background

The quality of education is directly linked to the training of teachers and the need for continuing education and lifelong learning is constantly increasing. In order for teachers to respond to new challenges, they need essential supplies, which will allow them to function successfully in an ever-evolving educational landscape. Teacher training in new technologies can enhance learning, both in face-to-face and distance learning. The object of the project was the training of 28 technologist teachers, members of E.T.E, in alternative and flexible education systems, focusing on the acquisition of knowledge for the design and development of Educational interactive games. Educational interactive games (serious games) are perhaps the most modern educational tool because they facilitate the teaching of all subjects and remove the obstacles that exist in traditional forms of teaching. Students can be producers, take risks, explore, fail, keep going and succeed. To get motivated to learn and using all the "smart tools" at their disposal to "play" their own game.
