Objectives

The main objective was to enable the whole community, starting from its local reality, to deal effectively with the complexities of the global world and to promote social inclusion by establishing sustainable links with European organisations active in the field of education. In addition, the project had specific objectives focused on the training of secondary school teachers as drivers of structural change in the school's educational praxis. The aim was to strengthen the capacity for pedagogical innovation, as well as to improve the linguistic and digital competence of teachers through participation in European projects such as eTwinning and Erasmus+. In order to guarantee the methodological transformation and ensure its sustainability, the project had two main interests: -creating a team dedicated to the internationalisation of the school, which would be responsible for promoting and coordinating activities related to European projects and collaboration with other educational organisations in Europe. -To establish a network of teachers at international level, based on previous experience in school exchanges, in order to design and implement eTwinning / Erasmus+ projects collaboratively.

Background

IES Unamuno BHI applied for the L.P.G.W. project with the aim of fostering methodological innovation and promoting learning through European projects. The project aimed to improve the competencies of teachers, students, families, and non-teaching staff and prepared them to face the challenges of the global world by participating in European projects. One of the main objectives of the project was to train secondary school teachers to bring about structural change in the school's educational practice, thus benefiting the pupils and the whole school community. It aimed to strengthen the capacity for pedagogical innovation, as well as to improve the linguistic and digital competence of teachers through participation in European projects such as eTwinning and Erasmus+. The project sought to incorporate new educational methodologies, such as Project-Based Learning, Integrated Curriculum Language Learning, and Transversal Education, into teaching practice. In order to achieve this methodological transformation and ensure its sustainability, the creation of an internationalisation team for the centre and the construction of a network of teachers at an international level were proposed.
