We pretended to achieve several objectives as a response to the above mentioned needs. On the one hand, we aimed to reinforce the European dimension of our school (creating a network of partners). On the other hand, we aspired to train our personnel in order to teach their courses in English (joining the bilingual section). Then, we intended to promote a collaborative learning method using modern digital techniques (implementing eTwinning projects). In addition, we meant to foster the use of foreign languages and to facilitate cultural integration (introducing transnational projects). Lastly, in keeping with the latest trends in education, we proposed to introduce competency-based teaching that facilitates the social integration of all students (enforcing project-based teaching).
We applied for the project in order to give response to a series of needs that faced both students and teachers. A need to create and maintain a network of European partners. Need to train teachers to work in the CLIL section of the school. A necessity to implement teaching models adapted to the digital reality. A need for practicing and improving communication in foreign languages. Finally, a need to promote attention to socially and academically disadvantaged students.
