Based on the analysis of the needs of the center, through the proposed training activities it was intended to achieve the following objectives: - To know and put into practice new methodological tools that favor cooperative and collaborative work through positive pedagogies, CLIL methodologies, and Gamification. - To improve the general dynamics of our classes through strategies where students learn actively, being protagonists of their own learning. - To improve teacher training in aspects related to "Learning by Projects" and promote its implementation in the classroom. - To increase the motivation of our students towards academic training, establishing new alternative educational pathways that reduce the dropout rate in our center. - To learn about and put into practice new methodologies and didactic strategies that favor the development of classes outside the conventional classroom (Outdoor Learning), helping to fill the gaps in infrastructure that our center currently has. - To strengthen the European dimension of our center, establishing contacts that serve as the basis for future international projects (KA2 projects, student and teacher exchanges, Job shadowing and international teaching). - To know the basic operation and organization of the educational systems of the countries visited. - To increase the involvement of all members of the educational community, and especially the families of the students, in the activities developed by the center. - To establish networks of good international teaching practices related to alternative pedagogical tools
Our school is located in Ronda (Málaga), a monumental town, home to outstanding landmarks and a unique setting in which several Natural Parks converge. Many tourists come round every year to enjoy its lively atmosphere and breathtaking scenery. A considerable number of the students who come to our school have low socio- economic status. So, in order to help them achieve the basic social, cultural and work integration it is necessary to look for new and alternative methodologies with which to increase their motivation and reduce the dropout rates. Because of the lack of both basic facilities and the lack of available spaces for the teaching activity at our school, our teachers find it mandatory to widen their skills and knowledge in new methodologies of teaching that help to compensate for infrastructure deficiencies, while increasing the motivation of teachers and students towards school activities. On the other hand, in line with the teaching method that started several years ago, one of the main objectives in this project, is to make our school reach an European scope which will boost our school beyond its local setting, and will allow us to work in international networks which will be the basis for future international projects.
