Objectives

As priority objectives to respond to the needs described in the previous section, we consider the following: - To know and innovate in new methodologies and new didactics of work (improvement of the methodology and didactics of the classroom, innovation in the way of teaching, improvement of ICT...). - To improve language skills in foreign languages (due to the large number of immigrant students, and thus facilitate their integration and adaptation). - To internationalize the school, establish alliances with European schools (to promote European awareness and fundamental values such as solidarity, respect, equality and tolerance). - To improve the teaching competence of the teaching staff through international cooperation (getting to know other educational systems different from ours and thus observing other educational forms of organization and management). - To implement Gamification, such as Chess (it is about using the contribution of chess to improve, among other things, attention, memory, problem solving, reading comprehension...) as well as enhancing sociability, peer support, respect among peers and control of emotions.

Background

The school is aware of the importance of incorporating ICT/ICT and new methodologies into the teaching-learning process. We are a leading organisation in methodological projects, we have been trained in cooperative and project-based learning to improve academic results, motivate pupils and reduce school dropout rates. We are carrying out a project that incorporates a laptop with Chrome OS for each pupil and a GSuite account. The school teaches 1st ESO Physical Education in English, as a result of the work of previous years in the European Section, Comenius Programmes and pupil exchanges. We also have an Erasmus committee responsible for our European Development Plan, which establishes the following as priority needs: - Improvement of linguistic competence in foreign languages - Establishment of alliances with schools in different European countries to continue promoting the European spirit. - Improving the digital competence of teachers and students. - Introducing gamification as an educational tool - Improving the functioning of committees/working teams. Considering these needs, we know that the European Development Plan is a great tool to achieve these goals.
