1. IMPROVE THE SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNOLOGICAL COMPETENCES OF THE STUDENTS and obtain better results from the annual scientific-technological test. 2. INCREASE THE STEM VOCATIONS of the students by programming interdepartmental projects, organizing talks by ambassadors, experimentation workshops, outings and competitions that motivate students towards Science, Technology and Engineering. 3. INTRODUCING THE USE OF NEW METHODOLOGIES to encourage critical thinking, research and creativity in students. 4. GIVE VISIBILITY and relevance to FEMALE LEADERS in STEM areas. 5. COMPETENT LEARNING IN REAL CONTEXTS: all those activities that are projected outside the building center are usually more relevant for the student. For this reason, some of the activities will take place in the nearby natural environment, such as the River Ter and Les Gavarres. 6. CREATE LINKS between the school and LOCAL COMPANIES to be able to work together on social, environmental or common interest issues. 7. EUROPEAN DIMENSION to the institution, through the implementation of changes in terms of modernization and international cooperation.
European STEM STEP is a project that has allowed us to strengthen the international reach of our organization, as well as improve the professional development of teachers, especially in the use of new STEM teaching methodologies in areas such as Science and Technology. Introducing changes in the way we teach our classes helps our students to solve problems, to be more creative or to have critical thinking. In short, it helps them to have a deeper learning and to improve their scientific-technological skills. Also, if we start from real situations, we increase their motivation and involvement in the learning process. For these changes to be possible, specific teacher training was essential. For this reason, we scheduled internal training courses in 2019-20, where teachers from Science and Technology departments attended, with the aim of integrating STEM learning methodologies in the classroom. In addition to the subsequent mobility abroad that have enriched us as a center while allowing us to keep in touch with different teachers and schools.
