The IES Catalina de Lancaster is a small school (120 students, 27 teachers) located at the head of a region with depopulation problems in the southeast of Castilla y León. Our students come happy to the school but, in general, they do not show great interest in learning. We have articulated a plan to spark their motivation so that dropout is reduced and results are improved. Fundamentally, the detected needs are the following: - Isolation of students and their families from the idea of Europe, which is detached from their daily life, is not part of their reality, nor their desires or opportunities. - Low academic performance in general, especially in Spanish language and English. - High early school dropout rate. - Lack of motivation. - Little knowledge of teachers in foreign languages.
