Our objectives are: To promote the use of digital competence, in the design, construction and programming of a robot, working as a team and cooperatively, in the resolution of environmental problems, which will define the challenges that the robot will have to overcome in the Hackathon. We hope that this activity will serve to increase the motivation of both students and teachers, as we consider the fact of travelling and meeting new people to be enough of an argument. At the same time, we would like the number of women participating in the activities to be at least equal to the number of men, as we still perceive in our school reality that the number of women in scientific-technological electives is much lower than the number of men. Finally, we would like the Hackathon to be a competition that more and more countries would join and that it would have a permanent presence over time, with an ever-increasing number of participants.
This project is presented as a complement to the approved KA-210 project requested by our school together with Agrupamento de Escolas Jose Estevao "Hackathon Build Your Robot", which will be held in Aveiro (Portugal) in April 2023. With this project, on the one hand, we will ultimately offer the possibility of sending 20 of our students (including 4 students with fewer opportunities), accompanied by 3 teachers, to this event. On the other hand, we intend that with the mobilities of the teaching staff in the realization of courses specifically aimed at Programming and Robotics we get the right contacts to expand the network of participating schools in future editions of this competition that would be held biannually in different countries of the member partners.
