One of the main objectives of this type of project for the center, is to improve our work methodology. The objective is the methodological improvement and the improvement of the quality of our teaching. Being as we are a center on the outskirts of Galicia, which is already a peripheral territory in itself, we suffer a constant change in the teaching staff that makes it very difficult to maintain a stable center project. Therefore, we intend that, in part, the European projects serve to increase the loyalty of the teaching staff in the center. We also want more teachers to get involved in the management of our own projects, which are always limping from a lack of staff. Another one is to reduce the level of conflict in the classroom, although the center already has a considerable number of resources to deal with this issue, we always lack teachers specifically trained in this area. We are immersed in the drafting of the digital center plan, which means rethinking everything related to new technologies in our teaching practice and we want to develop in this sense an integral treatment of technology (in parallel to the integrated treatment of languages that already exists in some centers), so we want to train teachers as much as possible in these areas. From previous training in programming, robotics, 3D modeling, etc., interdisciplinary projects have already emerged in the center that serve as the spearhead of these ambitions. One of the objectives that we want to contemplate is the improvement of our attention to students with special needs, improving the training of teachers who deal more directly with these students. The incorporation of the center to the training projects abroad for vocational training students requires the center to train a nucleus of teachers in that sector so that it can meet the demands of said projects. This group has to learn issues related to the management of this type of project and improve their English skills.
This project has been requested as part of the internationalization strategy that the center has been following since the 2006-2007 academic year. The center has a bilingual section in three subjects, so the need for language training is constant. The center occasionally receives foreign students, as part of other European projects, which forces the teaching staff dealing with these issues to improve their English skills. Added to these bilingual sections is the incorporation of cycle teachers into European projects, which makes it necessary for these teachers to be trained in English. The center also has a very restless technology department, which supports the center's strategies in its efforts to improve the training of students and teachers in the STEAM area, which is why we always include in this type of project some activity that reflects these issues, such as On other occasions they have been programming or robotics courses, as in this example. The center is also committed to everything that has to do with the prevention of disruptive behavior and with mediation in school conflicts, in this sense we always contemplate a course that supposes a methodological improvement of what we have already been doing (coexistence classrooms, tutoring among equals, mediation workshops). We also want, given all the changes experienced in the center, to improve the management of the European projects themselves, incorporating courses in this regard.
