Our project has the aim of focusing its methodology from an environmental perspective and turning into a sustainable centre where all the members of the educational community are involved under the motto “Residuos a cero” where there is a better opportunity to progress. These aspects are going to be carried out through an inclusive methodology where the awareness with our environment and the learning in the community are always present. Thus, so as to give response to our needs as an educational centre and contribute to achieving these objectives, we conduct an exhaustive and detailed research from a wide variety of schools that would allow us to acquire the tools and ideas by means of observation.
Our school is constantly changing in order to improve the educational project of the centre, known as Crece+, that has changed the pedagogical approach as well as a new way to understand education. Some years ago, the school took part in this project as it was a need to awaken the interest and the curiosity in the teaching-learning process for our students. In order to do that, all the areas in the curriculum were globalized through a didactic approach based on research projects, highlighting the importance of the STEAM methodology and the cooperative work. During this time, we noticed that the youngest part of the society had a lack of critical thinking, personal autonomy, sense of initiative and entrepreneurship. Likewise, the lack of environmental awareness was noticed, so the inclusion of a pedagogical methodology was needed in order to foster the sustainability, the recycling, reducing waste and the engagement to put into practice the essential actions in the environmental improvement. When applying for this project, our main goal was giving response to the needs already mentioned and improving ourselves. That is the reason why we wanted to stand for an international education which helps our students to have a better future.
