The project objectives are summarized within the 3 "I"s as the name of the project, "Highway I-3" well indicates. The first "I" refers to inspiration - our goal was to become a center of reference in our community and to be able to offer examples of good teaching practices for both educational professionals in the area and our own students. The second "I" refers to innovation - we saw as a primary objective to continue expanding our range of ICT tools and active methodologies that put students in the center of their learning process. The last "I" refers to inclusion - we tried to learn how to attend the diversity within our classrooms in the best way, applying the DUA philosophy at all times. Other objectives we had set ourselves are: - learn more about active methodologies to form self-sufficient and autonomous students - establish new international contacts and find new partners to organise exchanges of primary school pupils - improving the language skills of both pupils and teachers - to teach the whole educational community the need to value our cultural heritage and European values.
This project has been requested in order to continue with the internationalization and digitalization of our school that began in 2018, thanks to the first Erasmus+ grant within the framework of KA1. In accordance with the Strategic Framework for Cooperation in the Field of Education and Training (ET 2020) we pursue the 4 common EU objectives relating to lifelong learning, improving the quality and effectiveness of education, promoting equality, social cohesion and increase of creativity and innovation. Our autonomous community has one of the highest dropout rates and that is why we are convinced that we need to innovate our teaching practices, transfer the real world to the context of our classroom and improve collaboration between all members of the educational community. Besides, we have to look for solutions to the problems arising from the great diversity within the classrooms, increasing number of pupils with special educational needs and socio-cultural integration problems.
