For all the above, and in accordance with the provisions of our European Development Plan (EDP), this Erasmus+ KA101 project was intended to: - Improve the ability of team leaders to promote pedagogical renewal and the implementation of active methodologies and involve the rest of the teaching staff in it. - Promote new educational methodologies, especially in foreign languages, and introduce different teaching strategies in the subjects that cater for problems such as school failure and the students’ resistance to subjects taught in English. - Improve the linguistic competence of the participating teachers. - Integrate all members of the school community with special attention to families, as a key agent in the fight to improve academic results. It should be noted that our KA101 project is one of the lines in a more complete internationalization strategy in our school, where Erasmus projects are carried out in other sectors such as Higher Education or Vocational Training. In addition to the specific objectives for each section, there are general objectives aimed at improving the presence of Europe in the school at all levels seeking to improve the quality of the teaching provided.
Our school was founded more than 50 years ago and currently it includes Compulsory Secondary Education, A-levels and Special Education. It is a large school that has six lines in 1st Compulsory Secondary Education (CSE), six in 2nd CSE, six in 3rd CSE, five in 4th CSE and four in the 1st and 2nd levels of A-levels, one of the latter in the musical section, associated with the Manuel Carra Music School. The students’ socioeconomic origin is varied and a high percentage of them come from disadvantaged backgrounds. The school participates in several educational plans of the Andalusian Regional Government such as School of Peace, Plurilingualism or Ecoschool. Our school also has its own plan for educational innovation called "Prophets in their own land". There is a strong commitment of the teaching staff to implement new teaching strategies aimed at improving the social inclusion of the most disadvantaged groups. In this sense, a weekly collaborative learning session has been launched in the most disruptive groups. In addition, the teaching of the different subjects in English and of English itself continues to be an aspect to improve, and solutions are being sought in this regard by job shadowing our European partners.
