For the effective and progressive implementation of PEPLI we need trained and qualified teachers, not only in the foreign language (English or French), but also in the Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) methodology, as well as in new technologies. The short and medium term future of our European development plan must therefore be based on and focused mainly on the need to improve the quality of content teaching in English and French at the center and on increasing the European dimension of our teachers, so that they consistently transmit it to our students. Another of our objectives was to increase the number of staff (teachers, coordinators and management team) who carry out a job shadowing (observation stay) in other leading European schools in their countries, especially in CLIL/CLIL/EMILE methodology, in order to incorporate their know-how in the process of adaptation to PEPLI. On the other hand, we always trust that future European cooperation projects will be developed from stays of this type. The implementation of this European project would help us meet our objectives in the medium and long term, directly benefiting our students.
The Internationalization Plan (and European Development) of the IES Broch i Llop has been one of its differentiating pillars since its birth in 2003. One of our objectives has always been the understanding of different cultures and educating our students in a way together with their families and improving our social environment, while providing them the opportunity to complete their education through international activities. Our primary objective within the European Development Plan is to be prepared for the implementation of Law 4/2018, which regulates and promotes multilingualism in the Valencian educational system, which is the normative reference through which teaching is structured. and the vehicular use of languages (Plurilingual and Intercultural Education Program, PEPLI from now on). This program establishes the minimum time devoted to curricular content in each language (Valencian, Spanish and a foreign language), which includes the hours for each linguistic area and the areas or subjects in which each language is used; In our case, and from the 2021/2022 school year, we must teach between 15% and 25% of the teaching hours in English.
