The objectives set in the project responded to the information collected in the school reports and contributed to give an answer to our identity signs and to the objectives established in our Educational Project: - To promote the opening of the educative community to wider fields of cooperation and learning, fostering, therefore, the opening to the rural environment. - To boost changes through the improvement of the organization, management and development of the teachers’ competences. - To continue giving an answer to the technological changes in the educational field, going a step forward with methodologies such as flipped classroom and project-based learning, promoting meaningful learning in our students. - To discover new techniques and learning methods for the Physical Education area, to give an answer to the School’s Linguistic Programme.
Our small school has a European Development Plan, as well as experience in carrying out different Erasmus projects, which is an important aspect promoted by the Directive Team. We must respond to the challenges of the society of the XXI century; a globalised society immersed in a European reality, that requires not only the acquisition of the communicative competence in foreign languages, but also to develop abilities such as mediation, intercultural awareness, and the knowledge of social conventions, cultural aspects, linguistic diversity, and cultural consciousness. C.R.A. La Encina is a school located in a rural area characterised by the progressive depopulation of its villages. We have 91 students, divided in 10 mix-aged groups, between 3 and 12 years old. Around 50% of the families are immigrants. Due to the social and geographical conditions of the environment, many of the members of our educative community do not have access to adequate resources for a full opening to the European context with which children should cope in the future. This is the reason why the school gets involved in international projects in which everybody can participate, that have a direct impact in the improvement of the education quality and that motivate families to take part in activities that generate a global and shared vision of the European reality. In former school years, we have already been involved in different European projects, which have been successful, as reports show, and that have allowed us to introduce changes from the thinking and the analysis of our reality. These changes bring improvements, as well as the achievement of the objectives reflected in our European Development Plan. From this reality, valuing the positive impact in our school’s improvement, we decided to apply to this project to give the opportunity to our teachers to participate in the different mobilities that have been proposed, as they are a unique training experience, as well as the chance to learn about other cultures and realities, and, above all, to share practices with other teachers, and to expand collaborative and cooperative networks for other projects. Objectives: What did we want to achieve by carrying out this project?
