The objectives we set ourselves in this project were: 1. Creation of a team of specialists for the inclusion of all students. We are aware of the shortcomings in this area of our teaching and non-teaching staff and we are concerned about being able to provide such attention to each and every one of our students. This team would serve as a starting point for peer-to-peer training to convey our learning to all the staff at the center. 2. Our second objective is included in the same line, consisting of capturing ideas for the implementation in the classroom of innovative methodologies that help our students to develop skills that allow them to be included in all social and professional fields. 3. Promote the inclusion of students with special needs, both students with learning difficulties and high capacities students, so often forgotten in our system. For us they are all equally important. 4. From there arises the need to create a life plan for students with high abilities that would be our fourth objective. That plan would come to contribute to the fulfillment of our mission as an educational center in contributing to the development of society through the integral education of our students, promoting the integration of students. 5. Lastly, in order to make our experience and learning sustainable over time, we seek to facilitate the exchange of ideas and experiences with fellow teachers and non-teachers from other European educational centers and thus enrich our own experience and transfer what has been learned to the classroom and to our educational community, as part of an ambitious educational innovation plan in which we are immersed.
One of Centro San Valero's distinctive features is being an inclusive center and we have verified that over time the profile of the students who enroll each year is more diverse, having higher percentages of people who require special attention, both due to high capacities and to learning difficulties, and adaptation difficulties. We understand that to address these needs, it must be done from various areas that correspond to the objectives of this project, which is why we wanted to acquire skills in attention to diversity of all kinds.
