We aim to develop a better understanding, as a teaching team, of emotional competence and to gain mastery in how to effectively incorporate in the classroom actions to improve in our children the following aspects: 1. Awareness of one's own emotions 2. Ability to discern and understand other's emotions. 3. Ability to use the vocabulary of emotion and expression. 4. Capacity for empathic involvement. 5. Ability to differentiate subjective emotional experience from external emotion expression. 6. Adaptive coping with aversive emotions and distressing circumstances. 7. Awareness of emotional communication within relationships and capacity for emotional self-efficacy. Alongside, we pursue our aim to widen our scope as a school by establishing connections within the European scenario and to accomplish an internationalisation of the school in policies, methods, approaches and to foster teachers' mobility to increase their communication/linguistic skills.
Emotional and social development are key topics affecting today all sectors of our personal and professional lives. The attainment of these skills of emotional competence is crucial to self-efficacy. By implementing an emotional skills program we will equip children with the skills necessary to effectively become proper citizens of future Europe.
