Our need has been to improve our linguistic competence, and our goal, to acquire an optimal level in foreign languages and CLIL methodology to use on a daily basis as teachers. Thus, through a current problem such as climate change, the aim has been to raise awareness among teachers and students of the need to act, using the learning of a foreign language. The main objectives have been to improve linguistic competence and environmental awareness both in the educational community as outside of it. Likewise, more specifically, the objectives that we have sought to achieve have been: a) Improve the linguistic competence of teachers and students. b) Apply CLIL methodology to our classes to comply with the new multilingual programs. c) Raise awareness among the entire educational and parent community about the need for changes to improve the sustainability of the center. d) Apply new strategies and sustainable actions to reduce climate change.
Our Erasmus team, after the positive experience of the previous project, decided to continue in the line of work on Erasmus projects at the European level. The project has been requested to satisfy specific needs detected in the center when the project was written. Thus, the aim has been to unite the needs to improve the linguistic competence of teachers and students and to learn new strategies and resources for environmental sustainability to apply in our center and in our environment. The increase in interest in issues of sustainability and environmental care on the part of the educational and non-educational community in the area and the need for teachers to continue improving and training in linguistic competence have been the main reasons why the project and which has finally been developed for 3 years (24 months plus an extension of 12 more months).
