As our first step we aimed for internationalisation at the same time as we could get the basic necessary tools for international cooperation under the aegis of the Erasmus+ programme. Our objectives were thought enumerated to contribute to meet the needs detected as well as to prepare us for more complex and demanding projects. We wanted to establish partnership with institutions with sufficient experience in these projects, especially in STEAM teaching and learning projects. We had some experience in multidisciplinarity and STEAM but were set to learn from experts. Furthermore, we aimed at gaining experience in CLIL didactic approach and target our linguistic competences in foreign languages, as our school develops a bilingual school programme where throughout the four levels at least five of the subjects are taught under the bilingual programme. We also intended to carry out observations to improve our models for digitalisation and use of new technologies in learning environments. Lastly, our school intended to learn from different models of school management and communication in different school systems. Learning about inclusion and attention to diversity was an aspect that we would observe throughout.
At IES San Atonio we are committed with a project of internationalisation and approach to Europe,as determined by our European Route Map. Our long term priorities purport to create a network of partner institutions in different European countries that will enable us to carry out international learning projects that, in a first stage will include teachers, and that will progressively be endowed with the capacity to undertake more complex international activity namely mobilities for students in short, mid and long term stays. At the time this project was drafted, KA229 projects were the goal we had set to achieve in a long term future, where we planned to develop projects based on cultural and natural heritage that could be both interdisciplinary and plurilingual. Taking into account our almost complete lack of experience, this Ka101 project was the most suitable format for us, as it could provide us with the first steps towards internationalisation, give us the first tools and help us meet the first partners for future projects.
