Background

We think this project will cover the needs that can be easily spotted in our school in order to provide teachers and professionals with tools that will improve teaching methods so as to get a better classroom atmosphere which may lead to respect each student´s learning process. We think that the way in which students interact with each another is a neglected aspect in education. Most of the time it is devoted to helping teachers arrange appropriate interactions between students and materials and some time is spent on how teachers should interact with students, but how students should interact with one another is relatively ignored. How teachers structure student-student interaction patterns has a lot to say about how well students learn, how they feel about school and their teachers, how they feel about each other, and how much self-esteem they have. Teacher most of the times are not aware of these subtle features in the classroom which influence their relationship in the group. Even though in the school there are already several procedures to implement this aspect, we think by means of this project we will acquired more strategical tools to improve and reach all staff members. Academically speaking we have observed that there is a large gap between tha students´ interests and their interaction between their technological reality and the more classical teaching methods and relationship with the teachers in the classroom. These gaps may produce rejection on the part of the less skilled students and a high level of frustration which may affect the interaction between peers. Socially speaking, this group of students belong to less supportive families which make them weak to remain focused in the academic scope. The main aims of the project are as follows: 1.-To put into practise easy tools to improve teaching methods through cooperative approach including emotional learning. 2.-To provide our school with an international dimension which is essential for a bilingüal centre. 3.-To improve teaching skills in order to deal with diversity so as to avoid early school leaving and improve students´success 4.-Learning by observing and exchanging best practice examples in this area. 5.-To improve the lingüistic competence of participants in the mobilities activities. A total of 15 teachers will take part in the project. They belong to different schools departments, members of the bilingüal section and also members of the school board so as to provide the project with a better impact in the school and guarantees stability. The project will be managed and developed the same way as the other projects the school has taken part in and consist in: Three committees: 1.-Committee for Project Planning: They will deal with organization issues previous to the project submition. In this stage we have already involved our partners abroad. 2.-Managment Committee. Sorting out practical questions and logistic, such as transport, accommodation, insurance, paperwork and project accounting 3.-Monitoring Commitee They will be in charge of all preparation for the participants mobility schemes. They do the follow-up during the mobility and set up activities for broadcasting the activities´ outcomes. After the mobilities, we expect the participants to have acquired new teaching tools and methodology that improves the cooperative approach. It is also expected that the participants improve their lingüistic abilities and our links with the network strengthen all partners cooperation in the future. Our long term goal is to consolidate the new cooperative techniques and the emotional approach to teaching so as to be the normal procedure in our school
