Objectives

The intention of this project is to have the chance to promote the internalisation of our school and thus instil bilingual awareness in the educational community. Our objetives are the following: 1. To receive training in new methodologies for teaching English as a foreign language. The 2 mobilities mean the professional improvement of the participants not only at an individual level, but also at a school level, as disseminators of the knowledge obtained. Through a new methodology, acquired by the teachers during this mobility, the students will be aware of the European dimension. 2. To improve the results of the students' linguistic competences in English language and to promote the use and knowledge of this language. Through new innovative and inclusive strategies and methodologies, which teachers will acquire in the training courses, and good educational practices, the students will be motivated. 3. To contact and cooperate with partners from other countries to make joint projects. In the course, the participants in the mobilities will meet other teachers, with similar interests, with whom future Etwnning projects could be developed, which could lead to a KA2.

Background

Our school, in recent years, has had different previous experiences with eTwinning projects as well as a KA101 and KA2 and we requested with project with the aim of continuing with the internationalisation of teachers and pupils. In 2020, as a result of the updating of the school's Language Project, a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities,Threats) was carried out and the need to improve the results of pupils' English language skills, both to enhance the use and knowledge of the language and to improve academic results, became apparent. After the analysis, we detected a low number of interactions in English by the students, an aspect that we consider important to improve for their future in an increasingly more globalized world. Another reason to apply for the project was the teachers' interest in reversing the students' lack of motivation in their learning process by implementing new methodologies. However, it was not possible to improve these weaknesses without updating teachers' knowledge of new methodologies. Another reason for embarking on the project was the desire of language teachers to find new contacts for further participation in European projects.
