Objectives

The project was developed with the aim of achieving the internationalization and methodological modernization of the center. Within the framework of the Annual Improvement Plan, the need to improve the capacity of teachers to communicate in foreign languages was reflected, since the implementation of multilingualism in the center is already a reality. Improving the communicative competence, together with training in CLIL methodologies was the right combination to ensure a successful implementation of the multilingual plan of the centre. Likewise, the goal of promoting continuous training in new methodologies and the development of digital competence was pursued. Improving the methodological knowledge of teachers implies giving a more effective response to the needs of our centre, among which we would place special emphasis on the need to promote inclusion. Training in cooperative and innovative methodologies is essential to commit to creating a highs school for students with different abilities and skills. Finally, we should mention continuing with the international projection of the center, which has been growing for years thanks to the achievement of European Erasmus projects of varied nature.

Background

"Plurilingualism as a socialising element. Breaking communication barriers to promote inclusion" is a project carried out by the teaching staff of IES Francesc Tàrrega de Vila-real (Spain) for the Erasmus + programme in the field of secondary education. This project was carried out with the aim of improving communication skills in English, given that our school has been teaching a compulsory Plurilingual Plan for the last two academic years. Our school is a reference centre in the region due to the fact that it hosts the Communication and Language Classroom (Aula CYL), where a specific response is given to students with profound and generalized developmental disorders.
