First of all, we wanted to create a leading movement in our school to work on different projects. We set as objectives in the field of mobility and European cooperation, the continuity in teacher training and we started training in the inclusion of disadvantaged pupils or pupils with special characteristics, as a means of tackling school failure and early school leaving. These mobilities favour a European vision of education in our centre, less local and more plural and multinational, both in the teaching staff and in the students. 1. To encourage educational innovation in teaching practice, promoting the use of new methodologies and educational tools available to improve professional qualifications. 2. To achieve learning results in the participants that favour the teaching response to the interests of our students and the attention to their cultural diversity. 3. To promote the inclusion in the school and personal environment of disadvantaged, migrant, ethnic and differently abled students in order to delay early school leaving. 4. Promote the European dimension of education through training mobilities and observation periods.
After the granting of our first Erasmus project, awareness of the benefits of Erasmus mobilities increased in our school. The E+ Commission considered it necessary to develop another project to continue with the previous objectives, as the overall goals we wanted to achieve had not yet been reached. We kept the base in mind to involve more teachers in the programme as 4 out of 72 teachers is not a good percentage. In addition to the areas to be covered, we needed to support the development of teachers' linguistic competence, the updating of new methodologies, the reduction of early school leaving and learning about inclusion and multiculturalism due to the characteristics of our school. We were determined to continue working in these areas and to achieve the school vision through internationalisation. Applying for school accreditation, working with new contacts through eTwinning projects and developing the European Scheme were some of the reasons. Therefore, we needed this project to further develop the positive appreciation for the E+ programme in order to involve more teachers and to be able to initiate pupil mobilities.
