An improvement in the attention to ASD students. A greater, if possible, awareness of our educational community towards these students. Greater knowledge and improvement of skills by the professionals who attend them. A greater involvement of the rest of the teachers and, finally, an improvement in the acceptance, inclusion and normalization of these students and their classrooms by the rest of the students. This project has been a good boost to achieve the proposed objectives.
We are a school that continues growing. We have opened in recent years a new educational stage (secondary) and our classrooms of preferential attention to students of autism spectrum (ASD classrooms) have also grown. We have a tradition in the attention to these students from the perspective of infant and primary; But in addition to improving these processes and diagnoses, we also want to be effective and efficient in the care of our secondary school students. That has been our goal. Our intention. We did not know it then, but the concession and consequent opening of a third TEA classroom has come to reinforce our project of attention to diversity and all that this entails.
