Objectives

The objectives within the consortium were: 1) Develop internationalization on high school centers, especially supporting those that have not developed an internal structure for opening abroad. 2) Deepen in the decree on equity and inclusion, taking advantage of the momentum and special awareness within the Erasmus program during this call 3) Create and maintain working networks between european centers that share common issues and to build international collaboration structures.

Background

Inclusion is one of the priorities of the European Commission and different governments. The Department for Education of Valencian Community, following the development of the equality and inclusion decree, is promoting teaching actions through the structure of teacher training centres with the aim of raising awareness in the educational community about the need for coexistence and equality in schools. An example is to be found in the "Plan director de coeducación" promoted by the Department itself, which pursues "progress towards a co-educational, inclusive, and equal school model which contributes to social transformation". In order to make the aforementioned regulations effective, CEFIRE considered highly interesting the proposal for the creation of a new consortium on school coexistence from a co-educational point of view. Not to mention it responds to needs and great demand for new methodologies, inclusion, coexistence and co-education in preschool and primary schools, establishing a significant line of work in inclusion counselling and transition between stages, widening training actions in these fields and providing it with an international network of interaction.
