Objectives

In the school training programme, one of the priority lines is the training in linguistic competence both in English and French. One of our objectives is to improve the teachers’ language skills in order to achieve quality language teaching, learning new resources and methodologies and getting a better knowledge of the culture of those countries. Another need was the need of methodological update, as we are aware of the importance of being trained in these new methodologies and adapting our teaching practice to current times. To communicate the contents of the training received thanks to this project not only to the teachers participating in the mobility activities, but also to the rest of the teaching staff who are interested in learning about new methodologies and acquiring new tools to be used both inside and outside the classroom. To foster the interest of teachers and students in the different European cultures, discover these cultures and understand them. To create new contacts for the exchange of experiences and culture between the various participants. This would allow practical enrichment and an improvement in the linguistic and cultural skills of our students and even opportunities to collaborate in future projects

Background

Our school has been betting on Erasmus Programmes for several years, being aware of the great benefit of our participation in these programs brings to our institution. We are a school immersed in a bilingual project since the course 2008/2009, as we know the importance of speaking a foreign language such as English today. Furthermore, we have the second foreign language programme, in our case French. All this implies that the teachers participating in these two programs wish to improve their communicative competence in both languages by participating in structured training courses abroad. In addition, our teachers are very interested in training, as they know the importance of being updated, of learning about new methodologies and new tools to improve their teaching practice. Teachers demand training activities, either through the CRFP (the Teachers Training Regional Center) or through the opportunities offered by programs such as Erasmus KA101, which also allows them to meet teachers from other European schools and establish possible links for future European projects.
