We have continued applying the "IES Abastos Quality and Internationalization Improvement Plan", and it has been expanded in view of the results obtained. Our objectives have been: •The study of new teaching methodologies, such as project-based learning, with the idea of motivating students and reducing absenteeism and school dropout, especially in Basic Vocational Training. •The study of the use of ICT in the classroom and at the school, also considering digitization and reducing paper use. •Improving student internships, finding out about training skills, professional skills and transversal skills required by companies in different countries and training students in them. •Extending its application to new partners, in new countries, who can provide us with new perspectives and good practices. •Having students do internships in the EU in order to improve their training and employability, learning about other forms of work so that the free movement of workers in the EU is a reality. •Achieving greater international dimension through collaboration with counterpart centers in other associated countries, promoting the exchange of experiences and skills. •Giving continuity to the relations with the partners of previous calls.
We are a public school. We teach Basic, Intermediate and Higher Level VET, Secondary School and Baccalaureate. We have 1,966 students, 1,244 of them in VET degrees. We have experience in inclusion: 12% of our VET students come from third countries. We implemented Dual Vocational Training in 2014. Since 2015 we have run KA102 projects for our Intermediate VET Degrees in Microcomputer Systems and Networks, Administrative Management and Commercial Activities and for Basic VET in Administrative Services. Among our training strategies is promoting the mobility of students and staff. We host staff from European counterpart centers, partners and potential partners. At the start of this project we had hosting companies in the EU to carry out student mobilities for internships. During development, we have increased the number of collaborating companies, counterpart centers and countries, and our associations with previous partners have been strengthened. Collaboration with EU centers and institutions has been fundamental in proposing solutions to common problems and standardizing strategies. Participating staff, motivated and involved in improving teaching and employability, had experience in vocational training and tutoring internships.
