Through this project we wanted to promote a more efficient preparation of students and teachers, throughout the academic cycle, as well as the achievement of coherence among national and European tools in the field of recognition of professional qualifications and competences. The project will contribute to improving the professional and transversal skills of the participants, lack of knowledge of languages and little professional experience, and the international reach of the organization.
The Joaquim Mir Institute in Vilanova i la Geltrú is a public educational centre owned by the Government of Catalonia. Vilanova i la Geltrú is a city close to Barcelona, well connected, with a good cultural and sports offer and good medical and assistance services. Our centre offers the following studies: middle school, high school, Initial Vocational Training of Assembly and Maintenance of Computer Equipment, VET Cycles of Microcomputer Systems and Networks, Administrative Management, Administrative Management of the Legal Field and Commercial Activities, and Higher Education Cycles of Development of Web Applications, Computer Network Systems Management, Administration and Finance and International Trade. For years, INS Joaquim Mir has been facing a series of students needs, such as youth unemployment, truancy, dropouts and lack of motivation. In order to give an answer to these needs, make sure the students are better prepared for the job market, motivate them with new challenges and create a more innovative education, we are following a plan to internationalize the entire school.
