The Juan XXIII vet school tried to achieve the following objectives for the European Development Plan through this project: 1. Consolidate the international dimension of our teachings and, in relation to this project, strengthen this dimension in VET education. 2.Improve the employability of our VET students, consolidating a network of companies to establish new sources of hiring and employability. 3. Improve students' command of foreign languages to provide them with greater labor competitiveness and personal self-esteem. 4. Reduce school dropout levels, especially in VET education, offering attractive internships, open to Europe and offering them the chance to travel and learn about new cultures. 5. Cultivate in our center a culture of internationalization and globality, fostering respect for other cultures. We would also intend through this project to address the following issues: 1. Reduce school absenteeism. 2. The job market is increasingly competitive, and sometimes VET students need a plus, with this type of projects, we intended to improve not only the skills of their profile, but also others such as languages, personal and professional attitudes. 3. The market is constantly changing and sometimes it is necessary to adapt to these changes not only from the classrooms, but also from the business sector itself. We need to be updated, that is why with this project we also wanted our teachers to compare methodologies and curricular contents with partner centers in Europe, in order to be able to incorporate new methods and contents more suitable for the professional profiles that we offer in our school. 4.We also need to improve the level of linguistic competence of our students, since in the VET educational courses English is important and studied in the professional profile. The labor market requires workers with a good level of English and increasingly other languages due to the globalization of companies. Knowledge of languages is essential both in Administrative Management and in Commercial and Computer Activities. The project was planned at the application form for two years, so we planned to carry out two flows periods of mobilities, one in 2021 and the other in 2022.
The project " J23 Looking at the future" Erasmus Key Action 1 project (teachers and students learning mobility), was applied in accordance to our main aim as institution: to internationalize our teaching, providing it with high quality standards. Thus, the project proposed seven activities for our VET students from the training cycles (Management and administration, Commercial Activities, Electrical and Automatic Installations, Microcomputer systems and networks) and three activities for the teaching staff of the mentioned cycles. As for the students, we proposed seven short-term mobilities (two to Italy, two to Malta, one to Hungary, one to Croatia and one to Slovenia) for the realization of the Workplace Training module. Students mobilities aimed to satisfy our need to improve their professional and personal profile through training practices in European companies. On the other hand, teaching mobilities aimed to meet the needs of our staff in what concerns updated curricular contents and methodologies in their subjects, to consolidate our network of partners in order to present a KA2 in the field of Vocational Training which will enhance its teachings. Regarding the educational community, the project "J23 Looking at the futures" aspired to continue cultivating a critical and open spirit towards different cultures, thanks to these mobilities’ impact which will be enhanced by results disseminations in talks, web, social networks, and information boards. Our institution requested this project to get: In a short term: - to increase the employability and improve career prospects - Improvement of the self-training and self-esteem of the participating students and their personal and professional growth. - Increased awareness of the European project and the values of the EU - Increased intercultural awareness and respect for new cultures - Improving the learning outcomes of students and teachers - Improvement of foreign language skills; - Greater motivation to study VET and give the place it deserves in Spain to professional training. - Improve the skills and methodologies of our teaching staff. - Update curricular knowledge of teaching staff to adapt to the current labor market. In a long term: - Consolidate and expand a network of partners vet shools and companies that allows us to carry out the activities proposed with our already consolidated partners. But, also, thanks to the planned teaching mobilities, to be able to expand our networks with new counterpart centers in order to be able to interact with them again in future projects. Our idea is to request a KA2 project in future calls. In addition, the mobilities have a long-term effect on the entire educational community, which is gradually encouraged to participate in the next proyects. Our plan was to carry out two types of mobilities to get the objectives already mentioned: teachers and students. Staff (3 mobility). For staff, we planed job shadowing practices in iVET shools and companies in the sector, this observations might be carried out throughout the school year in non-school periods or at the beginning of the school year to avoid losing class hours. Three teachers would carry out for five days observation activities in classrooms and companies related to the VET sector where they teach professional modules (management, electricity, languages, computer science ...) Students (7 mobilities) we planned seven mobilities for the VET students in European companies to carry out their FCT periods for 75 days, which they y would choose according to the selection process and their professional profile.
