The objectives of the project are clear and still valid: the first and foremost objective is to provide an internship experience in a European country for basic vocational students with disabilities with higher support needs. Normally people with disabilities have not had the same opportunities as other students. Most of them have not had the opportunity to travel to other European countries, many of them have not even travelled in their lifetime. Through this project we wanted the students to have an experience in a foreign country that would add value to their education and career as well as to their personal lives. To provide the students with a vital experience that will contribute to them professionally through internships but also on a personal level. The second objective is to improve the teaching skills of certain professionals by carrying out a "job shadowing" exchange in a training centre for people with disabilities in Estonia. These exchanges have served to reinforce the training of professionals but also to assess different options for collaboration between these centres and Gureak.
This project is requested within the framework of the generation of opportunities for people with disabilities with high support needs in European mobilities. Through this project Gureak tries to reinforce the experiences of internships in a foreign country within the basic vocational training adapted for people with intellectual disabilities and mental illness and we believe that it is important that our students have the same opportunities as the rest of the students. In previous years we have started to carry out different mobilities of students and professionals but with this project we try to reinforce and consolidate this line of work and inclusion so that it has a continuity in time. This second project has also allowed professionals working in the field of training and labour insertion to get to know other centres and other different realities. In this second line of work, it is very interesting for the staff of the centre to get to know other realities.
