The project was presented with the following objectives: - Make lifelong learning and mobility of VET students and teachers a reality - Improve the quality and efficiency of education and training. - Promote equity, social cohesion and active citizenship. - Increase the opportunities for placement and professional insertion of students in an environment as international as the Costa del Sol, thanks to the improvement of their linguistic skills in other languages and the learning of work techniques and procedures typical of other cultures. - Motivate VET teachers towards research and innovation. - Increase the number of students who could do internships at the E.U especially for those with fewer resources or opportunities and remove socioeconomic barriers. - Strengthen their social skills and flexibility and adaptation to other environments, reinforcing their personal autonomy, self-esteem, teamwork and decision-making. - To establish collaboration links with other foreign vocational training centres.
The province of Malaga brings together a large number of clinics, aesthetic and beauty centers, hairdressing salons and spas to respond to the growing demand of nationals and foreigners who seek to improve their image and health, being this sector one of the most prosperous and better valued. In this context, it is essential to train professionals in general and in the personal image sector in particular, with the following skills: - working in a multicultural environment, - communication skills in other languages (preferably English and French), - Knowing the different demands of beauty and image based on the different cultural and social determinants, and - adapting to the continuous innovations of the sector. Our Initial Vocational Training students are overwhelmingly made up of women with a basic academic background, low self-esteem and from low-middle social and economic backgrounds. In this context, this project main objective was to cover the shortcomings detected so far in our students and teachers of intermediate level VET and basic VET in the areas described above.
