The project has 4 general objectives: 1. To increase the employability of students in our regions; 2. To prevent early school drop out; 3. To promote a more attractive and dynamic education system; 4. To enable students to have their first work experience abroad. It also has the following specific objectives: - to reduce students failure at school; - to develop professional internships in companies abroad; - to develop our students’ 8 key competences identified by the European Commission; - to make our students aware of the meaning of interculturality, an intrinsic aspect of mobilities; - to improve and strengthen the level of self-esteem and confidence of students; - to exchange good practices between institutes; - to help our participants learn new working methods; - to contribute to the updating of teachers' competences; - to create exchanges between students and teachers from different schools; - to improve the quality and effectiveness of education and training; and - to improve the language skills of students and teachers.
Located in the Aragonese Pyrenees, the Huesca consortium, coordinated by the centre Guayente, includes vocational training centers that share the same challenges: - lack of time to manage European projects; - limited offer of international mobility opportunities, both for students and teachers; - the need to increase the employability of students; and - the need to keep on improving the skills of the staff. In particular, we identified the lack of accessibility by our students to educational programs, such as the Erasmus + one. This is the reason why we decided to participate in this project. As we are located in rural areas or without large population centres, we wanted to offer our students the same possibilities of their peers living in cities. In addition, we considered this project necessary to tackle the low technological development and the lack of job opportunities we face at local level. In particular, we think that this project finally helped combat the migration of young people from Spain to other countries, one of the main challenges of the European Commission and the Spanish government that can be tackled not only through social policies, but also the Erasmus + programme.
