Practicum Depo 2020 aims to address the above issues through the achievement of 3 fundamental objectives: -Improve the employability and professional expectations of VET students, facilitating their transition from education to the labour market and tackling youth unemployment. Likewise, we intend to broaden and strengthen the knowledge and skills linked to their professional profile, as well as language skills. -Improve the quality of VET, boosting the internationalisation of the consortium's educational centres and providing more complete and high-quality training. In line with this objective, the project seeks to enhance the capacity of teachers through the acquisition of new teaching methods and knowledge that can be transferred to the classroom. -Promote the development and revitalisation of rural areas in Pontevedra region, overcoming inequalities and the lack of opportunities. Some of the educational centres established in these environments may have less managerial capacity or a lack of experience in European projects. This way, the project seeks to connect them and their students with the opportunities of the programme.
The Employment Promotion and Local Development Service is committed to taking actions and projects that aim to promote employability and work integration of people in the territory. In this context, Practicum Depo 2020 was conceived as an instrument to tackle one of the main problems of the Spanish and Pontevedra labour market: youth unemployment and the transition from education to the labour market. Young people face great difficulties when they finish their studies and want to enter the labour market. As a result, the Spanish youth unemployment rate in 2020 reached 29.20% (Eurostat), while the EU average was 13.60%. In addition, there are two other challenges, such as improving the quality of Vocational Education and Training, overcoming the prejudices that still persist in our society and highlighting it as an attractive educational alternative, and the development of the province's rural areas. Through the mobility opportunities of the Erasmus+ Programme, the project aims to improve the employability of the participants, foster the economic and social development of the territory and strengthen VET in accordance with the Osnabrück Declaration.
