Background

The City Council of Cuenca has applied for this project with the aim of relieving the needs identified in the institutions that make up the national consortium (obsolete working methodologies, few or no language skills not only in students but also in professionals who see their low level of languages as a difficulty when cooperating with other international organizations, fear of the students to face the working world, low academic results, educational system poorly adapted to the reality of the market, unmotivated teachers and students, difficulty in finding a job), through the Erasmus+ programme, and thus to activate the economic and social network of Cuenca and, consequently, to cooperate for the modernization and internationalization of its own entities. In this way, the city council intends to benefit as many of the city's centres as possible and, therefore, their students and staff. With this project, the City Council not only manages to provide improvements in the quality of training for young people, but at the same time, the staff of the consortium members manages to acquire and/or improve competencies that they lacked before getting involved in this project.
